Suzio to Hold Meriden Rally for Gas Tax Relief

Rally scheduled for Monday, April 30, at Danby's.

Citing the success of his "Lower the Gas Tax" rally in Cheshire on Saturday, April 21, State Sen. Len Suzio has scheduled another rally for Meriden.

The rally will take place at Danby’s Gulf Express, 872 East Main Street, on Monday, April 30, from 5 to 7 p.m.

"People are sick and tired of our state's high gas taxes, and they want relief now," Suzio said.

"Scores of taxpayers turned out for our Cheshire rally. They are fed up. They want to see my plan to lower gas prices by 17 cents this summer put into action," he added.

Suzio's "2 for 2" plan, sponsored with Sen. Joe Markeley (R-Southington), aims to cut the gas tax from 7.5 percent to 2 percent for the two prime summer driving months. The measure would save motorists 17 cents per gallon, the senators claim.
