CAPSS Winners Honored
One student at each school in Meriden was recognized for excellence by the Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendents.
It was an evening of celebration and recognition at the Meriden Board of Education meeting on Tuesday evening. School Superintendent Dr. Mark Benigni presented the prestigious Connecticut Association of Public School
Superintendents Award to one student from each of Meriden’s public schools. Students are recognized for academic achievement, leadership and service to others.
“It gives me great pleasure to present these special awards to 12 deserving students,” Benigni told the crowd of proud principals, teachers and family members gathered to honor the students.
Principals and select teachers and staff from each school explained in glowing terms why their student was selected for the honor. The student then came forward with his or her family to receive the award from the superintendent.
