The Meriden Citizens Police Academy eight-week training program gives a wealth of background information on police policies and procedures and how citizens and the police can work together to keep Meriden safe. Highlights of the classes include a history of the Meriden Police Department, crime prevention, neighborhood associations, accident investigation, Supreme Court decisions, search and seizures, gang and group violence, drug recognition, DARE/GREAT/SROs and court procedures.
