Valentine’s Dinner for Two Cooking Program

Want to eat in for Valentine's? Chef Kashia Cave, founder and president of My City Kitchen, will show you how to make a romantic dinner for two that's easy on your budget! She will show you how to make a simple appetizer, entree and delicious chocolate-covered strawberries for dessert. Samples will be shared!

Kashia Cave is a graduate of the Lincoln Culinary Institute (LCI) and the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners (ICIF) in Costigliole D'Asti, Italy. She learned classic Italian cuisine while working under Chef Danilo Giordani at Mistral, a Michelin starred restaurant in the Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni in Bellagio Como, Italy. After completing her ACAP program, she had the privilege of working under renowned French master chef Jean Pierre Vuillermet, owner of Union League Café in New Haven.

Cave is a wife and mother of two teens, in addition to running My City Kitchen in Meriden, a not-for-profit organization that teaches children ages 6-17 about health and wellness by using hands-on training to prepare healthy meals in a fun and stimulating kitchen environment. A native of the island of Trinidad and Tobago, she has established a very successful business. Her Junior Chefs and her organization have been featured in the Hartford Courant and the Meriden Record Journal, as well as on CBS Channel 3 "Better Connecticut" with Scott Haney, NBC30 News, Fox 61 News and public access television. Cave is also a frequent guest on ABC Channel 8 "Connecticut Style."
