Watch Fire: American Flag Retirement Ceremony

If your American flag is worn, tattered, faded, torn, or not in perfect condition, it should be properly retired and replaced with a new one. Please bring ther flag to the American Legion Post 45 for an honorable retirement--and a lesson in American history.

The Watch Fire flag retirement ceremony begins at 2 p.m., but you are welcome to visit the Legion starting at noon to view vehicles from the Connecticut Military Vehicle Collectors group, a traveling exhibit from the Connecticut Army National Guard Rolling Flag Museum, and more.

Veterans' groups from around the state will take part in the day's events.
