Meriden's Kris Luster Commits to Wesleyan on National Signing Day

The standout wide receiver at Xavier High School joined four teammates on Wednesday morning to officially announce their plans to play college football.

All-state football player Kris Luster did plenty of catching and running this season as Xavier High School's top wide receiver.

This fall, Luster isn't going far to continue his football career in college.

On Wednesday, the Meriden resident was joined by family, coaches and four of his Xavier teammates while officially committing to Wesleyan University (Middletown) on National Signing Day.

In 2012, Luster caught 73 passes for 1,270 yards and 12 touchdowns in helping the Falcons win the school's third straight state title. Luster also played defense, collecting 62 tackles and two interceptions.

He earned several honors for his play on the field, including Walter Camp All-CT Team, New Haven Registere All-State and Hartford Courant All-State.
