Meriden's Sadie Edwards Commits to UConn

The former Mercy High School standout will return to her home state to play for coach Geno Auriemma and the Huskies, according to reports.

 

Meriden’s Sadie Edwards committed to UConn on Tuesday, according to several reports.

Edwards accepted a full-scholarship to play basketball for the Huskies and coach Geno Auriemma, in what will be a return to her home state of Connecticut.

Edwards played at Mercy High School in Middletown as a freshman before transferring to Nazareth High School in New York. The 5' 10" guard is now attending Blair Academy in New Jersey and will join the Huskies for the 2014-15 season.

She was being recruited by Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, Notre Dame, Penn State and Tennessee as well.
