Parents, do you know how to "Set The Rules" when it comes to underage alcohol use?

Join the Meriden Healthy Youth Council at a meeting of parents, students, schools, police, and the community, working together to keep our children safe.

The Meriden Healthy Youth Council, sponsored by Rushford is promoting the statewide media camping Set The Rules CT at a meeting Friday August 3rd at 11am at Cafe Dolce, downtown Meriden.  The Healthy Youth Council is a partnership of parents, students, schools, police, and the community, working together to keep our children safe and drug free. Our goal is to create awareness in the community concerning substance abuse and to work together collaboratively to prevent and reduce drug and alcohol use and their related problems.

The Set The Rules Ct campaign is funded by CT Office of policy and Management and Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. OPM’s website www.settherulesct.org has information for parents on preventing underage drinking, including sections on Ct laws, The teen brain and adolescent brain development, Setting rules and boundaries, Connecticut news coverage on underage drinking, and local, statewide and national resources on drug and alcohol use and underage drinking.

The Meriden Healthy Youth Council will be distributing free travel mugs to those attending. Complimentary lunch will also be provided to attendees. We encourage Meriden residents, parents, youth and youth supporters to attend to learn how you can support teens in making healthy, safe choices. We hope to see you there!
