Community Health Center Meriden 5k: Race for Mental Health

Runners and walkers welcome!

The Community Health Center of Meriden and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield are proud to be presenting the first annual CHC Meriden 5k: Race for Mental Health. The event will take place at Hubbard Park in Meriden, Connecticut on the morning of Saturday, May 11th, and will feature a 5k run, a  Health Walk, and a Children’s Fun Run.

The 5k and Health Walk will take place on the hill at Hubbard Park, so come prepared to get a good workout as you exercise for a great cause. The theme of the Kids Fun Run will be Superheroes, with kids having the option to customize their capes and masks after they are done running. Spiderman will be present and face painters will be on hand to make sure children can be whoever they want for the day.

Following all of the events, an awards ceremony will take place and a best superhero cape contest will be held. A Health Fair featuring local organizations and companies will be running throughout the morning, and a DJ will be playing everyone’s favorite music from beginning to end.

The cost of registration is $20 prior to midnight on Thursday, April 25th, and $25 from that date until the day of the event. All of those who register prior to April 26th will receive a Hi-Tek event t-shirt, with all remaining registrants receiving a cotton version of the same design. 100% of the proceeds will be distributed by the United Way to local organizations dedicated to addressing mental health and raising awareness about how mental health care can be improved.
