Viewfinder: Fireworks Return to Hubbard Park

After a few years at Westfield Shopping Mall, Meriden's famous fireworks show returns to its roots in Hubbard Park.

On Thursday night, crowds flocked to Hubbard Park for Meriden's annual Independence Day tradition--music and fireworks.

For the past few years, Westfield Shopping Mall has hosted the celebration. This year, it moved back to Hubbard Park, and many of the folks Patch talked to were happy about the move.

One organizer estimated the event drew about 10,000 people. Were you one of them?

Check out these photos and videos to see if Patch caught you or someone you know on camera, and feel free to add your own to the collection.

Was so glad to have the fireworks back where they belong! Great display! Kudos to those involved.

I agree. Congratulations, Meriden on a job well done. I LOVE the fireworks from the Half-way house instead of the Castle.

It was a good show but as always I dread the leaving from an event _any_ event. What is it with people when they get behind the wheel? Can we all agree you take a turn the next one takes a turn instead of ME ME ME?
