Meriden Army Vet Gets Home Makeover

State group volunteers, and seeks volunteers, to help veterans.

The Meriden home of Maura L. Rettman is getting some much-needed upgrades thanks to the efforts of a local chapter of the House of Heroes Connecticut, a group of volunteers that seeks to assist veterans in need of home repairs. Rettman's home was one of four that the group tackled last week in anticipation of the Memorial Day weekend, according to this story in the Connecticut Post. They also undertook projects at veterans' homes in Hamden and Stratford.
