The festival was fun for the mOst part. The major problem I had was the complete mess that theRead More dropping off of people participating in the parade was. We had excellent help with loading at the mall parking garage. Then we made it safely to what was our destination. We ended up being let off on a busy stretch of road near the highway exits and told that we had to get off the bus and walk to our meeting place. This made all of us angry as we had small children as young as three, parents with strollers and wagons and were then expected to hurry up as the gentleman standing in the road to "help" was trying to rush us across No concern for the things we had to unload and the children we had to get partners for so we could safely cross. Then we had to walk up the busy street to our road to line up on and they said we have been waiting on you. We would have been sooner has this catastrophe of dropping off parade participants had bot happened. I would suggest rethinking this organization of drop offs fir parade participants

Meriden History has always included pictures of residents using the water ways such as Hanover PondRead More and the Q River. Yesterday was such a Chamber of Commerce Day! I enjoyed a wonderful walk with my Dad who remembered those days and did nothing but go down memory lane as we walked the trail. So many others also enjoyed the local resources with their families for absolutely NO COST, like it used to be! What a great place to have!

Thanks to QRWA volunteers about 40 individuals experienced a canoe ride. The QRWA has to payRead More insurance per rider, an expense paid for only(20 riders) by contribution from the Trail Partners. Additional funds will be needed to cover the cost of the "overflow" who were mostly children. If you care to donate to offset the expense, go to qrwa.org where you can donate via PayPal.

What a beautiful day for a nature hike on the Gorge Trail! Ginny, since Joe says he put you inRead More charge of weather, I must say "job well done". Many thanks to Peter Picone who, as usual, led an informative and enjoyable hike. My only disappointment is that I wish I had been able to get out on the river or pond. As we drove by the Dossin Beach QRWA headquarters in mid-afternoon it looked like the canoe rides were still going strong.
