Roberta's professional background includes a 33 year career as a special education teacher in Connecticut. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in special education, and a Master's Degree in marriage and family counseling; both from Southern Connecticut State University. As a survivor of childhood sexual abuse Roberta's goal is to break the silence of sexual abuse by sharing her healing journey, via her blog: Write-to-Survive.blogspot.com, speaking engagements and her upcoming book Say it Out Loud: Revealing and Healing the Scars of Sexual Abuse. Roberta's writing endeavors began unconventionally as a strategy used in therapy. She is currently developing her first book, a book of strategies for victims and therapists, based on personal journals. Roberta is also the founder and facilitator of The Writer's Network of Central CT, a community of writers who meet twice a month at the Meriden Public Library. Join her on Twitter @writetosurvive.
