Textile Show

Gallery 53, 53 Colony St. Meriden is exhibiting a variety of original textile work.  The Textile Show includes surface design, felting, quilting, knitting, weaving, knotting, fiber sculpture, basketry, handcrafter paper and needlework.  The show, which is open to the public, runs from September 14 - 27.  Entries will be judged by Kate Themel.  Receiving is August 27 - 31, mail in entries must include return postage.  An opening reception will be heldSaturday September 14 from 1:00 - 3:00, awards ceremony will be at 2:00.  Fall classes and workshops are forming, contact the Gallery for more information. The Knitting Club meets the 2nd and 4th Friday, in the upstairs conference room, from 6 - 9 P.M., new members are welcome  The Artisan Gift Shop is open during Gallery hours and all Gallery events, Open Studio space is available for artists to work individually or in groups.  Fall classes, including a beginner fused glass class, are being formed.  For registration information, information on the textile show, Gallery 53 workshops and classes as well as information on gallery space and room rentals contact Gallery 53 (203) 235-5347 during business hours:  Tuesday - Friday 12:00 - 4:00 and Saturday 100:00 - 2:00.
