Elijah’s Writing:

Green Snakes

Female green snakes lay about 6 eggs. They don’t guard their eggs. The eggshells are soft and leathery. Green snakes rub off their skin when it gets too tight. It rubs its head on a rock and the old skin splits and peels back over its head. Its color blends in with the plants. Camouflage helps it so things don’t eat it. It never closes its eyes. Snakes smell with their tongue. It swallows its food whole.
